4-22-21   THOUGHTS

George Bernard Shaw penned,  “This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one: the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap, and being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.”   

Our nation is filled with the last.    We have a better REASON to LIVE don’t we?  
   
Matt 5:13-16  "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.  14  "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;  15  nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16  "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Eph 2:10   For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Php 2:13   for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
Col 3:1-3  Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Heb 10:24-25    and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25  not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another;and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Heb 12:1-2  Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 13:15  Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
1Pet 3:15  but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

My Prayer:
O Lord, we praise your great name and exalt you to the highest place.  May our minds be ever fixed on Jesus and the things above.  Help us walk in the Spirit continually.  May we think about our reason to live and be ever caught up in fulfilling it.  Bless our hearts in another day O God.
May we abide with you today.   In the name of our Lord Jesus          Amen
